Go and sin no more

"Go and sin no more" ~Jesus Christ~
"Awake to righteousness and sin not" ~Apostle Paul~
"He that committeth sin is of the devil" ~Apostle John~
1 John 3:3, 6-10, 13
and every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 6 whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. 7 little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 he that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the son of god was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 whosoever is born of god doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of god. 10 in this the children of god are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of god, neither he that loveth not his brother. 13 marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
John 8:34 Jesus answered them: verily, verily I say unto you, that whosoever committeth sin, is the servant of sin.
Exodus 20:20 and moses said unto the people, fear not: for god is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not
Ezekiel 18:4, 9:4 behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
9 hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the lord god.
John 8:11 she said, no man, lord.  And jesus said unto her, neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more
1 Corinthians 15:34

Awake truly out of sleep, and sin not. For some have not the knowledge of God. I speak this unto your rebuke.

Romans 3:25 whom god hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the REMISSION of sins that are PAST, through the forbearance of god
God doesn't hear the prayers of sinners:
John 9 31 We know well enough that God heareth no sinners: But if any man be a worshipper of God: and do what his will is, him heareth he.

Isaiah 59:2 But your misdeeds have separated you from your God, and your sins hide his face from you, that he heareth you not.

Proverbs 15 29 The LORD is far from the ungodly, but he heareth the prayer of the righteous

Proverbs 28 9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, his prayer shall be abhorred.

Psalms 66 18 If I incline unto wickedness with my heart, the Lord will not hear me.

Jeremiah 11 14  But pray not thou for this people, bid neither praise nor prayer for them, for though they cry unto me in their trouble, yet will I not hear them

1 Peter 3 12 or the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord beholdeth them that do evil

Isaiah 1:15 Though ye hold out your hands, yet turn I my eyes from you. And though ye make many prayers, yet hear I nothing at all, for your hands are full of blood.
1 John 5:18 we know that whosoever is born of god sinneth not; but he that is begotten of god keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
1 John 2:1 my little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.  And IF any man sin, we have an advocate with the father, jesus christ the righteous (((notice that verse says IF, not when)))
In John 5:14, after healing the man at the pool of bethesda in Jerusalem, who had previously suffered from a 38 year long infirmity, God's word says:
John 5:14 afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and he said unto him, behold, thou art made whole:
sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
1 Peter 4:1 Forasmuch as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he which suffereth in the flesh ceaseth from sin, that he henceforward should live as much time as remaineth in the flesh, not after the lusts of men: but after the will of God.
Approving of other people's' sin is a sin: Romans 1:32

"Which men, though they knew the righteousness of God, considered not how that they which such things commit are worthy of death, yet not only they that do the same, but also they which had pleasure in them that did them."

Ye shall be found walking blameless in the ordinances of the Lord

Genesis 44:10 and he said, now also let it be according unto your words: he with whom it is found shall be my servant; and ye shall be blameless

Luke 1:6 and they were both righteous before God, walking
blameless in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord

Philippians 2:15 that ye may be
blameless and harmless, the sons of god, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world

Colossians 1:8 who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be
blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 2:10 ye are witnesses, and god also, how holily and justly and
unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe

1 Thessalonians 5:23 and the very god of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray god your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved
blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 8 12 therefore brethren we are now debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh:  for if ye live after the flesh, ye must die. BUT if ye mortify the deeds of the body, by the help of the spirit, ye shall live, for as many as are led by the spirit of God, are the sons of God

Did you know that the Church is supposed to kick out unrepentant sinners?

Matthew 18:15 If thy brother trespass against thee. Go and tell him his fault between him and thee alone. If he hear thee, thou hast won thy brother: But if he hear thee not, then take yet with thee one or two, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses, all things may stand. If he hear not them, tell it unto the congregation: if he hear not the congregation, take him as an heathen man, and as a publican.

James 1:4 My brethren, count it exceeding joy when ye fall into divers temptations, remembering how that the trying of your faith bringeth patience: and let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and sound, that nothing be lacking unto you.

Matthew 7:18
A good tree cannot bring forth bad fruit: nor yet a bad tree can bring forth good fruit. Every tree, that bringeth not forth good fruit, shall be hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Hebrews 10:14 For with one offering hath he made perfect for ever them that are sanctified. And the holy ghost also beareth us record of this, even when he told before: This is the testament that I will make unto them after those days saith the Lord. And I will put my laws in their hearts, and in their minds I will write them, and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. And where remission of these things is, there is no more offering for sin.”

Matthew 5:48 Ye shall therefore be perfect, even as your heavenly father is perfect.

The bible never wavers from its message of repentance:

Ephesians 4 22 If so be ye have heard of him, and are taught in him, even as the truth is in Jesus: so then as concerning the conversation in time past, lay from you that old man, which is corrupt thorow the deceivable lusts, and be ye renewed in the spirit of your minds, and put on that new man, which after a godly wise, is shapen in righteousness, and true holiness.

1 Corinthians 15 18 And they which are fallen asleep in Christ, are perished

Hebrews 12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

1 Timothy 5 20 Them that sin rebuke openly that other may fear

Romans 6 14 Sin shall not have power over you. For ye are not under the law, but under grace.  What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law: but under grace? God forbid. Remember ye not how that to whomsoever ye commit yourselves as servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey: whether it be of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?  God be thanked. Ye were once the servants of sin: But now have obeyed with your hearts unto the form of doctrine where unto ye were delivered.  Ye are then made free from sin, and are become the servants of righteousness

Romans 6 19 As ye have given your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity, from iniquity unto iniquity: even so now give your members servants unto righteousness, that ye maybe sanctified.  For when ye were servants of sin, ye were not under righteousness.  What fruit had ye then in those things, where of ye are now ashamed. For the end of those things is death.  But now are ye delivered from sin, and made the servants of God, and have your fruit that ye should be sanctified, and the end everlasting life.  For the reward of sin is death: but eternal life is the gift of God, thorow Jesus Christ our Lord.

John 14 12 Verily, verily I say unto you whosoever believeth on me, the works that I do, the same shall he do, and greater works then these shall he do, because I go unto my father.

Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Acts 10 35 Of a truth I perceive, that God is not partial, but in all he that feareth him and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Titus 1 16 They confess that they know God: but with deeds they deny him and are abominable, and disobedient, and unto all good works discommendable.

1 Corinthians 12 1 Wherefore I declare unto you that no man speaking in the spirit of God defieth Jesus

1 Peter 4 18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved: where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God, commit their souls to him with well doing, as unto a faithful creator.

1 John 2 17  he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

From the book of James

James 1 21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness, all superfluity of maliciousness, and receive with meekness the word that is grafted in you, which is able to save your souls: And see that ye be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any hear the word, and do it not, he is like unto a man that beholdeth his bodily face in a glass. For as soon as he hath looked on himself, he goeth his way, and hath immediately forgotten what his fashion was: but whosoever looketh in the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein (if he be not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work) he shall be happy in his deed. If any man among you seem devout, and refrain not his tongue: but deceive his own heart, this man’s devotion is in vain. Pure devotion and undefiled before God the father, is this: To visit the fatherless, and widows in their adversity, and to keep himself unspotted of the world.

What about 1 John 1:8?

1 John 1:9  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and truth is not in us.

In 1 John, John is warning believers that some had infiltrated the Church with the false doctrine of Gnosticism. He addresses both genuine Christians, and Gnostics in this letter. The misapplication of this verse is one of the most misused and misunderstood verses in the entire Bible. So many people attempt to justify their sinful living by hiding behind 1 John 1:8 suggesting it says "the Bible says that we must sin". The misapplication this verse is greatly due to missing the point of who John is writing to. John is warning believers that some had infiltrated the Church with the false doctrine of Gnosticism. John is exposing the false doctrine of the Gnostic infiltrators. They claimed that truth was that they could walk in darkness and continue to fellowship with God. John counters the Gnostic heresy in verse seven by stating the true Christian doctrine. He says that only if they walk in the light as God is in the light, then and only then can the blood of Jesus Christ cleanse them from all their sin. Simply put John is showing that they are deceived in thinking that they had no sin for the blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse away. It's that simple (although without historical context it's not). Scripture never contradicts Scripture. In most of this letter John tells us that Christians are cleansed from all sin. If all sin is cleansed, how can their be anything left? In Chapter 2:1, he states the purpose of his letter, "My little children, these things write I unto you, that you sin not." In chapter 3:8-9 , we are told plainly that "he who sins is of the devil" and "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin." To make verse 1:8 say that John admitted sin in Christians and himself while he claimed to be walking in the light, is to make him the most self-contradictory writer to be found in all of secular and sacred writing! 1 John 1:8 is not saying that the Christian can not stop living in sin and to believe so would be confusing John to the greatest extent. 1 John 1:8 does not say that Christians do sin, as many suppose. But, say some of those against whom John's polemic is directed. What is it to us if the blood of Jesus is not available to cleanse us from sin? We have no sin!....If people claim.....to have got beyond good and evil, to have reached a stage of spiritual development where moral principles are no longer relevant, they are self-deceived. John was in no more danger of falling into this erroneous doctrine than any Christian would be. He was talking to the Gnostics who infiltrated the Church. The death of Jesus on the cross made it possible for the true follower to overcome all their sin. Those with the inability to tame their bodies, to deny themselves and take up their cross daily and stop sinning is no son of God. They are no less deceived then the Gnostics who John addresses in the first century Church. If the interpretation of 1 John 1:8 suggests that sin is inevitable, it contradicts John's purpose in writing the letter. Fortunately the Bible gives us every possible angle so that we may not be deceived by the god of this world. Beware of anybody who says you cannot repent of your sins as the truth is not in them.
